Actor Rajesh Dhruva recently learned to play the chenda melam, a traditional percussion instrument of Kerala, in just 15 days. Rajesh, known for his Kannada film debut in Shri Balaji Photo Studio, is now collaborating with director Sukesh Shetty on his new film Peter, centered around the chenda melam. Rajesh shares, “To authentically depict the character, I decided to master the basics of chenda playing. After 15 days of training, I gained the necessary skills and also focused on weight loss to embody the look of a chenda artist.”

Incorporating folk music seamlessly into the storyline to offer a fresh and engaging experience for viewers, Rajesh emphasizes the importance of captivating the audience in today's competitive market. Despite his success in films, he plans to continue acting on television for a stable income, stating, “Once I have solidified my position in the film industry, I may choose to focus solely on that medium.”
